My department covers two of the hotels, including two pools and the field of lights display. We service rooms, repair issues in the hotel, help guests with any requests , do general grounds improvements and landscaping and are in charge of the day to day upkeep of the pools. We are required to do any basic metalwork, carpentry and electrical work.

I worked as a resort all rounder at the Sebel. My time was mainly split between the ski shop and maintenance department. The Maintenance role was general site maintenance, hotel and chalet repairs/ improvements, Spa level checks, leaf blowing/ cutting the grass etc.

I worked at IAC as a multi skilled maintenance engineer, the job role was as follows. − Fault finding and repairing different types of manufacturing machinery. This could be electrical, mechanical or fluid power based. − Working as a team with other skilled maintenance technicians and external contractors to repair/ improve manufacturing machinery. − Recommending improvements to engineers; completing projects, modifications and preventative maintenance to actively improve systems already in place. − Liaising with management, engineers and production to ensure maximum efficiency within the factory. − Creating, editing and maintaining different engineering drawings and documents. At IAC some of the equipment we look after includes hydraulic presses, plastic injection moulders, automated glue spray cells, cooling and heating systems, sonic welders and a large variety of assembly cells all of which are heavily automated with robots.

During my time at GKN driveline I completed several qualifications to gain a level-3 engineering maintenance apprenticeship. In addition, I have gained valuable knowledge from working alongside other skilled maintenance engineers and since completed additional training courses. The job role was identical to my most recent role at IAC with the additional responsibility described below. − Cell/machine moves – disconnection and reconnection of electrical, mechanical, water and fluid power systems. This included a 9 month project where I completed a whole cell move as lead maintenance engineer. Types of machinery involved : CNC lathes, millers, drillers and grinders; rack rolls; induction heating and tempering machines; mag-arc and friction welders; balancers; robots; automated paint track; various assembly rigs. On a variety of automated and manuals operated lines.
